Series Overview and Authority

Governing Body

The True North Shootout Series operates under the complete authority of the Ontario Cornhole Association (OCA) Board of Directors. All tournament procedures, player classifications, and competitive standards align with official OCA protocols and Cornhole Canada regulations.

Competition Timeline

Qualifying Period runs from January 1, 2026 through June 1, 2026. The Championship tournament takes place July 10-12, 2026 at the OCA Provincial Championships in Cornwall, Ontario. Players accumulate points throughout the qualifying window playing in regional singles events in their tier to secure series points.

Player Eligibility and Registration Requirements

Series Registration Fee

All competitors must pay a one-time registration fee of $20.00 CAD to be eligible for Series points accumulation and Championship qualification. This fee enters you into The True North Shootout points race.

Membership Status

Membership Status
Participation is open exclusively to members in good standing with the Ontario Cornhole Association. Players must maintain an active Cornhole Canada membership throughout the entire Series duration to remain eligible for points and prizes.

Tier Classification

Players will compete in regional tournaments at their current PPR tier level (Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3), just as they do in standard regional events.

If a player moves up a tier during the season (for example, from Tier 2 to Tier 1), they will continue to compete at their updated tier level for all regional tournaments.

However, if a player qualifies for the True North Shootout Series Championship as a Top 16 finisher, they will compete in the Championship at the tier level they were registered in when they entered the True North Series, regardless of any tier movement that occurred afterward. (points gained in Tier 1 will move with them into Tier 2)
